What are the Benefits of Having a Water Filtration System?
Polluted water can be dangerous to your health since it introduces a host of harmful contaminants into the body, including industrial chemicals, pesticides, microorganisms, and volatile organic compounds. The purpose of a water filtration system is to remove, or at the very least reduce, these contaminants to provide you with clean and safe drinking water.
Water filtration systems are also cost effective. Over time, you can save a small fortune on drinking water since a water filtration system eliminates the need for purchasing bottled water.
Reverse osmosis is a process that purifies water using a specialized filter. Water is pushed through a fine membrane under high pressure to rid it of contaminants. Health enhancing minerals are often added back into the water supply after it has been purified for best results. Reverse osmosis eliminates radioactive particulates and other hard to remove contaminants that other systems can’t.
Carbon filters work by attracting positively charged contaminants to the negatively charged carbon inside of the system. The porous or granulated carbon collects these contaminants until the filter becomes worn out, at which time it will need to be replaced.
Three Stage Filters
A three stage filter pushes water through three separate stages to thoroughly clean your water supply. The first step uses a sediment filter to catch larger particles and is often made of pleated cellulose or polyester. The second filter, which is made of copper and zinc, transforms chlorine, commonly found in tap water, into chloride. Lastly, a carbon filter prevents microscopic contaminants from passing through to ensure that your water is safe and healthy to drink.
